History of the Weyr

{Here's a brief history of the Weyr. I will dive farther down into it once we get more members and figure out a main plot. mmkay?}

Lanor Weyr was founded almost 80 Turns ago by the older Goldrider Weyrwoman, Rilne. She was from the neighboring Weyr, Boldra Weyr, and was sent to found a Weyr for the overflow of riders in Boldra. With her came two Bronzeriders, two Brownriders, seven greenriders and blueriders, and a set of staff for the Lower Caverns.

When it came time for Rilne's Sarlath to Rise, she gave a long Flight. The Gold's first Clutch was of normal colors, but with her second Clutch, new Hues began to emerge. First, there came Onyx, a black dragon male. The people of Lanor Weyr figured it a once-in-a-lifetime mutation, but were proven wrong when two more appeared in Sarlath's next clutch, along with two Flames. The people didn't know what to think, there had never been such colors before. However, the word of new dragon colors traveled quickly, and the people of Lanor were relieved to find that different Hues were appearing in other Weyrs as well, just not the exact colors they were experiencing.

It wasn't until the second pair of Queen and Weyrwoman, Kerta and Jorinth, that the new Crimson king appeared. By now, the people were used to strange colors appearing, but they weren't prepared for the last color mutation. When the first Amethyst Egg appeared, all of Lanor Weyr was shocked. They didn't know what to think. The egg was bigger than the other Gold in the Clutch! They decided to watch, and wait. The first Amethyst Queen was Impressed by a young girl of the name Rina about 30 Turns ago. About a 1/2 a Turn after the hatching, the Weyr decided to designate Amethysts as the main Queen of the Weyr. Golds could still Rise and Clutch, but their Riders were no long considered Weyrwoman.

The Current Amethyst Queen, Kaelith, has been the only other Amethyst to appear since, and she was in Jorinth's last Clutch. The old Weyrwoman had died only soon after the eggs were Layed, and Jorinth had flown between. It is said another Amethyst will not appear until Kaelith reaches old age; but nothing is known for sure.
